About Me

My Photo
Mike Roots
I am a husband, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, musician, worship leader, writer, radio deejay and follower of Christ Jesus. I serve as worship leader in our local church (First Connecticut Open Bible Standard Church, Pastor H.B. Steed). As a radio deejay, I host "Reggae Explorations" on Thursday nights from 7:00-9:00 (rebroadcast Friday mornings 10:00-12:00) on Torrington (CT) Community Radio WAPJ 89.9 & 105.1 FM. In addition, I've recorded an album ("Freedom & Struggle", Star Recordings, 2005) and have also co-released a couple of singles and appeared on a number of compilations as well. My writing has consisted primarily of music reviews, local news stories and such. Also, I enjoy the wonders of nature and all of God's creation and participating in efforts to show compassion and justice. Are you looking for professional writing assistance? Would you like the benefit of over 13 years of broadcast and print media experience put to use for your project? I offer creative and technical writing and editing as well as voice over services. Contact me at mroots@optonline.net to further discuss your needs.
